About Us

The Sheriff’s Office is home to 90 full and part-time employees, covering a wide range of responsibilities:  civil process, emergency communications, court security, prisoner transports, and investigations. On a normal day, Deputies transport inmates from secure facilities around the state to any one of the courts in Rockingham County.  Deputies are also out in the county conducting investigations, serving civil paperwork, arrest warrants and assisting local agencies with law enforcement duties or emergencies.  Civilian employees of the Sheriff’s Office assist residents and visitors with civil paperwork service, warrant questions, or one of the many daily calls for service coming in to our emergency dispatch center.

The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office has one (1) location that serves residents in Rockingham County.  This is located on the second floor of the House of Corrections on North Road in Brentwood.

For information on civil process please call the Civil Division at (603)-679-2241. Prepayment is required for all services. If prepayment is not received with documents, they may be returned or held. Service fees vary based on multiple criteria, please call for pricing information.

HOURS

Office staff hours: 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday. Please refer to the Rockingham County website for Holiday closure information. Please note that the Rockingham County Civil Division may close or have delayed opening in the event of inclement weather. During a storm, it is best to contact the Dispatch Center at (603) 679-2225 to make sure the Civil Office will be open to assist you.

It is the mission of the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office to enforce the laws of the State of New Hampshire and the United States of America, faithfully and impartially; and to provide public safety services for the citizens, businesses, and other Law Enforcement Agencies within our jurisdiction, emphasizing professionalism, cooperation, competence and integrity, in order to foster a partnership which will preserve and improve the quality of life in Rockingham County.

Rockingham County Narcotics Tip Line

The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Department has set up a Narcotics Tip Line so that individuals can report suspected drug activity. Tipsters may remain anonymous or leave his/her name and phone number for a follow up by a Deputy. Messages left on the Tip Line are checked on a regular basis.

    • Location of the activity
    • A description of what was observed
    • A description of the person(s) or vehicles involved
    • Date and time of the occurrence.
